Guelph Residents and Pollinator Enthusiasts! Municipal elections for a new Mayor and 12 City Councillors are scheduled for Monday, October 26, 2026. Pollination Guelph has joined with Get Involved Guelph and several other community organizations to survey all candidates on issues that matter in the City.
The PG question reads:
As a member of council, how would you show leadership to ensure that the city continues to grow and enhance green spaces that support healthy environments for native plant and animal species, such as pollinators, as well as for city residents?
If you are curious as to how the candidates have responded, you can find all the results with this link:
Once there, search for question "Q10" to see how the candidates have answered.
Advocacy at all levels of government - including municipal - is an important part of helping conserve pollinators and their habitat. Knowing which of our elected representatives are aware of the issue and, importantly, which of them are prepared to act on it in a constructive way is a critical step in supporting pollinators.
Something to think about, as you consider who you will vote for later this month.
